Black Friday Special

Like this kabuki? It's perfect for those who prefer the short handle of a kabuki combined with the easy of application of a flat top foundation brush. Made of the softest synthetic hairs on the market, this kabuki is very dense as well, and applies foundations marvelously.
I know I promised Cyber Monday promotions, but I just decided at the last minute to have one Black Friday item - I was feeling left out :) Sooo... for today and today only (Nov 28th), this premium flat top kabuki is fire-sale priced at $15.00. That's 40% off regular price! This offer expires and midnight CST, so buy it now and save! Stay tuned for the Cyber Monday deal - it will only be offered to registered customers by email, so if you haven't already registered, do so before tonight by clicking here.

Black Friday & Cyber Monday Sales

Here I am leafing through all the fliers from today's newspaper, and I'm really not seeing anything super special that merits getting in line at 4:00am. Where are the $199 computers? Has anyone seen any store that's offering super good stuff that you have no shot of getting because there's only 2 of them per store? You know, the very reason you get in line to try for that lottery, then go buy something else anyway because you didn't want to spend all that time in line for nothing? I've even been watching Black Friday 2008 daily, but nothing excites me much.

Now Cyber Monday is a whole different ballgame. Cyber Monday is traditionally the Monday following Thanksgiving. The theory behind Cyber Monday is that you've spent the previous Friday battling overcrowded malls and long lines, and are now back at work shopping online because you got so disgusted from Friday.
I'm participating as a sponsor of Fashion Sensei's Cyber Monday Madness. Be sure to check out her blog post first thing Monday morning, and throughout the day. She'll be posting exclusive discounts (including a BIG one from me), one hour web busters (good only for one hour from the post she puts up about any particular web buster), and some amazing giveaways as well. Although I'll be posting my own Cyber Monday deal (make sure you've created an account on my website before Friday night, as it will be emailed only to customers on Saturday morning), the one offered on the Fashion Sensei site is totally exclusive for them - I'm not spilling the beans about what I'll be offering, but I will say that it's a price slasher!

Jami's wonderful review of my products on her Bionic Beauty blog got picked up by Reuters! I feel like Robyn Obama! First, I was dancing in the streets with her glowing review (and she's a toughy when it comes to skin issues), but it have it picked up by a national news service? Woo Hoo! OK, 'nuff said. I just wanted the bragging rights of actually seeing Purely Cosmetics and Reuters on the same page :) Thank you Jami!

Purely Cosmetics Launches New Products

I've been adding stuff to the website right and left, but haven't been updating the blog much. Deviating slightly from all naturally derivied ingredients, I've added a few products by popular customer requests.

We are now offering all of our eye shadows in pressed powder versions. There is absolutely no way to successfully press these puppies (that I've found, at least) without using a non-natural binder. I tried using just jojoba, but the powders never dried and they didn't ship very well. All of the base ingredients are still natural minerals, however, a small amount of dimethicone is sprayed to bind the pigments together. The pressed shadows are offered in 2 slot compacts and 10 shade palettes. The tins on the 10 shade palette are removeable and interchangeable, and measure 1 3/8" (35mm) across - which is a larger diameter than MAC pans.

Also added to the eye color line is Waterproof Eye Liner. This eye liner will not come off no matter what until you take it off. I actually talked my daughter into wearing it during her swim meet (shocker!), and it remained in place despite taking her swim goggles on and off all day long (by the way, just in case anyone cares, she did really, really well at that meet!). The waterproof liner is offered in 3 shades: Black Cherry (a black with deep red highlights), Black Out (self descriptive), and Chocolate Mousse (a medium-dark brown).

Are you ready for the holiday shopping season?
Once again, we will be participating in the December My Pretty Pink Box, which will go on sale December 9th. Last month's box sold out in less than 2 hours, so make sure you sign up for an email reminder and are online at 7:00am PST so that you don't miss out! I promise, only good stuff from me!

I will also be offering a "Cyber Monday" promotion for those who subscribe to my newsletter. If you want to be kept abreast of what's going on on Cyber Monday (the Monday following Thanksgiving - Dec 1st, this year), make sure that you subscribe to my newsletter. I barely have time to post on this blog; I assure you, you'll never receive spam as a newsletter!

Isn't She Beautiful?

Sapphire Night & Blue Violet Shadow Review Tia is the first one I've seen who received her Pretty Pink Box already. Yesterday (the day after the Pink Boxes were up and sold out), she posted about her haul in her box - and quite the haul it was. Many of her followers asked for a FOTD using my shadows she received. So she did one today with disclaimers all over the place about not being a professional makeup artist. I don't know about you, but I think she looks gorgeous! Check out the whole post with all her pics here.

Faster Than The Speed Of Light!

Okaaay... within 2 hours, MyPrettyPinkBox has already
Did any of my readers get one?

I told you these were akin to Woot's Bag of Crap! If you missed out, I'll be in the December box as well. This time, make sure to sign up for a reminder notice here. Then be on Linda's website ready to hit the buy button immediately the day they gone on sale at 7:00am PST!

BeautyBlvd Reviews My Products!

The word is spreading about my products - YIPPEE! Joi from BeautyBlvd reviewed my Cream to Powder Eye Shadow Palettes today! Oy - if I only knew I've been filling the pans too full (don't look at the inside of the lid on her photo of the palette, LOL). She also likes the flexibility of being able to control exactly how much color you really want - add one layer, and you have a very sublte look. Want a more bold, intensive color? They're very buildable and blendable, so just add another layer or shade to create just the look you want. Follow Joi's blog here:

It's up and available for sale! The November edition of MyPrettyPinkBox is now selling. This month's box is only $11.99 plus shipping - a true steal given that if I'm in your box, you've already come out ahead of the game. Now that they're available, I can clue you in on what you could receive. Although my products won't be in every box (no one is in every box - that's what makes half the fun), it's all about eyes for those who get a goodie from PurelyCosmetics: either 2 full sized eye shadows and a detail shadow brush, or a Cream to Powder Duo, either of which retails for over the $11.99 cost of the box - PLUS the other items you'd get. Each box has 8-9 different companies participating, and you're guaranteed at least one gift certificate - one of which could be the reknown celebrity makeup artist Elke Von Freudenberg's certificate for $25 for her Model Brow products! :)

So quit reading me and go buy your box!

Better than Woot's Bag of Crap!

My friend Elke posted on one of her blogs about a new way to try stuff: My Pretty Pink Box.

Some of you know I'm a huge fan of Woot, and there's nothing more coveted than their Bag of Crap. Like Woot, My Pretty Pink Box is a mystery purchase, but instead of a 2005 calendar or a telephone handset (missing the base), it's filled with all sorts of girly girl items. It's a great way to try new and different things, besides being just plain fun to see what you get! Most of the items in the box will be sample sizes, but there's usually a couple of full sized items in there as well. Just like the Woot's holy grail Bandolier of Carrots selling out before you can bat an eyelash,'s box sold out last month in under a week. November's will be released on November 13th. If you want a reminder email the evening before to purchase a box, click here. I can guarantee you some good stuff in there! Maybe even some full sized stuff from PurelyCosmetics (wink, wink) :-)
